March to Mandaree--Itinerary--Dates, Times and Sites


Thursday, June 16th, 7 p.m.

Event: A short prayer service and playing of Taps, graveside of Chris Kleinwachter, presentation to Chris's mother Carmen Kleinwachter
Travel to Wahpeton, ND
Return to Enderlin (7:30 p.m.), final preparations for the official kick-off of the March to Mandaree, Wahpeton, North Dakota

17 June, Wahpeton, ND

Depart Enderlin 6:30 a.m. for Wahpeton
Event: Official step-off of the March to Mandaree, 8:00-8:30 a.m.

Route: West on Highway 13 25.5 Miles. North on Highway 18 12.9 Miles to the junction of Highways 18 and 27
Total Distance: 38.4 Miles

First Leg: Wahpeton to Mooreton (13.2 Miles)/4.3 Hours
Second Leg: Mooreton to Wyndmere (13 Miles)4.2 Hours
Third Leg: Wyndmere to the junction of Highways 18 and 27 (12.2 Miles)3.1 Hours
Day One (For those intending to march the entire distance): Approximately 12-14 Hours
Return to Enderlin, prepare for early departure, camp overnight in Enderlin

Arrive Wyndmere to the junction of Highways 18 and 27 approximately 5 a.m.
Route: Junction of Highways 18 and 27 west to 140th Ave SE (16.9 miles), north on 140th Avenue SE to Highway 46 (13 miles), west on 46 to Enderlin (7 miles)

First Leg: 12 miles/approximately 4 hours
Second Leg: 12 miles/approximately 4 hours
Third Leg: 12 miles/approximately 4 hours

19 June, Enderlin, ND to Litchville, ND

Depart Enderlin Sky Haven Ranch Airport, 5 a.m.
Route: 28 miles, straight west, to Litchville turn-off (County Road 60)

Route: 33 miles north on Highway 22 (ditch-walking, if possible)

**For safety reasons, the March to Mandaree will not be road marching on highway 22. The walking this day, if possible, will be done roadside in the ditches. Any alternatives or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
